St.Helens' new Head Coach from the 2027 season spoke to the media for the first time following his appointment with the Saints.
Ahead of the NRL clash between Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers on Thursday night in Australia (morning here in the UK)m Walters spoke with presenter Yvonne Sampson and a panel of ex-players: Luke Keary, Greg Alexander and Nathan Hindmarsh.
The 58-year-old reaffirmed his commitment to the Australian national team for this year’s World Cup, and then spoke proudly about being able to take the lead of the Saints, a club he knows has such a rich history.

The news of the current Australia Head Coach coming to the UK to coach our club was formally announced early on Thursday morning.
His appointment came following a thorough and detailed selection process, which saw a high number of top-quality applicants from around the world declare their interest in the position.
Walters will begin his work with the Club officially following the conclusion of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup in Australia.
