St. Helens R.F.C. CEO Abi Ekoku spoke to Sky Sports' Stuart Pyke about the big news of Kevin Walters being appointed as Saints' Head Coach.
Speaking ahead of the Betfred Super League Round 24 fixture between Saints and Castleford Tigers, Ekoku believes Kevin Walters’ appointment is a major move for both the Club and for the Super League competition.
Ekoku revealed Saints received a large number of enquiries for the Head Coach role, with Walters standing out from a strong group of candidates. The process was kept confidential and moved quickly, allowing the Club to secure the Australian ahead of the 2027 season.
