To mark 30 years since the momentous campaign of 1996, during which the Club won both the inaugural Super League title and a memorable Challenge Cup victory at Wembley, a special event will take place at the BrewDog Stadium... Join us as we celebrate one of the greatest teams in Saints' history!
This prestigious event will be held in the PSD 1873 Lounge at the BrewDog Stadium and will take place on the evening of Friday, 24th April 2026.
Hosted by former Saints Mike Bennett and Neil Holding, the majority of the 1996 playing squad will reunite to mark this special anniversary, honouring the past, with some players travelling from overseas to attend the event and Betfred Super League fixture the following afternoon vs. Wakefield Trinity.
The date of the Celebration Dinner marks almost 30 years to the day since the 1996 team brought the Challenge Cup home from Wembley (27th April 1996) in one of the most memorable victories in the Club’s history.
The team included many icons of the club in Chris Joynt, Anthony Sullivan, Paul Newlove, Tommy Martyn, Bobbie Goulding and Keiron Cunningham to name just a few.
This was of course followed by securing the inaugural Super League title at Knowsley Road later that year, to seal this iconic team’s place in St.Helens R.F.C. folklore.
The evening will relive a truly memorable season and bring back many memories of the era, celebrating the achievements of this team, that laid the marker for future success in the Summer era of the sport.

Tickets are priced at £65 per person (inc. VAT) and includes a two-course meal and a welcome drink.
