George Delaney has undergone surgery for a shoulder injury and will now sadly miss what remains of the 2026 season.
The young Saints prop suffered the injury in last Friday night’s Betfred Super League Round 20 fixture away against Wigan Warriors. Delaney needed to come off the field during the second half, and following assessments this week, an operation was recommended and booked in as soon as possible.
That surgery took place today, and George himself has shared the news on his Instagram.

Our #15 recently played in his 100th career match and is just two matches away from making a century of appearances for St.Helens as well, which is an astonishing feat for a young prop who is still only 22 years old.
This season, Delaney has played 20 times and scored twice, but he has further established himself as a key man in our forward pack whilst our team has battled injury periods to senior Saints forwards.
St.Helens will give George our full support and everyone at the Club is looking forward to seeing him back in action.
