St.Helens R.F.C. and BrewDog Raise a Glass to '96 with an Exclusive Limited-Edition IPA.
St Helens Rugby League Club is delighted to unveil a brand-new collaboration with our Principal partners BrewDog, celebrating one of the most iconic seasons in the club’s history with the launch of a limited-edition ‘96 IPA.
Created exclusively by BrewDog, the special brew pays tribute to the unforgettable 1996 campaign – the year rugby league entered the summer era, and Saints lifted the inaugural Super League title, as well as the Challenge Cup, in memorable fashion.
Available exclusively at the BrewDog Stadium, the beer has been crafted as a modern IPA with citrus, biscuit and caramel notes, honouring a team that helped shape one of the greatest eras in the club’s proud history.
Produced in limited quantity, the ‘96 IPA features bespoke retro-inspired branding that draws inspiration from the bold design styles of the mid-90s.
Whether you’re reminiscing about unforgettable tries or legendary players of the era, or just discovering the story of 1996 for the first time, this collaboration brings together two brands renowned for doing things differently.
We teamed up with Adam Fogerty (Heritage Number #1041) who played for the Club during the 1996 season to help produce the launch trailer for the beer.

The ‘96 IPA will make its debut at the Betfred Super League Round 22 clash with Hull FC this Thursday, 6th August.
