Interim Head Coach Eamon O'Carroll has named his 21-man St.Helens squad that will take on Wakefield Trinity on Saturday evening at the DIY Kitchens Stadium.

Kick-off in Wakefield is scheduled for 5:30pm on Saturday, 15th August 2026, and will be part of Round 23 of the Betfred Super League.
The Saints aim to end a three-match losing streak after a 32-18 defeat to Hull FC at the BrewDog Stadium. Wakefield are also seeking to get back in the winners’ circle after losing at home to Leeds Rhinos last week.
Eamon O’Carroll is also firing up his players, looking for a first win as Interim Head Coach, after stepping up into the role.
The Red V will travel to West Yorkshire aiming to continue a winning run against the Trin, with five consecutive victories in our previous five meetings. Back in April, the Red V secured a hard-fought 18-12 victory over Wakefield home, so our mean will be out to secure a league double against Daryl Powell’s side on their trip to West Yorkshire.
Interim Head Coach Eamon O’Carroll will preview the match with the media at the Club’s weekly press conference on Thursday afternoon, which will offer the latest update surrounding his squad. Saints supporters can watch it on demand and in full on Saints TV.
SQUAD NEWS
The Saints squad is boosted with the return of two senior outside backs with Deon Cross and Nene Macdonald in contention for the game in West Yorkshire.
Young prop Alfie Tate is also called into the squad and if he is selected to play, he would make his senior St.Helens and Super League debut and would become the sixth Academy homegrown talent to do so in recent weeks.
George Whitby, Jake Burns and Alfie Sinclair are the Saints who step out of the 21-man selection for Round 23.
