Saints squad to take on the Tigers at home

Interim Head Coach Eamon O'Carroll has confirmed his 21-man St.Helens squad who will take on Castleford Tigers on Saturday afternoon at the BrewDog Stadium.

R Whittle Ltd. sponsors St.Helens First Team 21-man squad announcements.

This Saturday is our Community Development fixture, and with two games, a stacked FanZone, Inclusion Round, and the chance for Members to bring a friend for a fiver, it should be an amazing day at the BrewDog Stadium.

  • St.Helens Academy vs Wakefield Trinity
    • 12pm KO
    • Academy Play-Offs – ‘Middle Four’
  • St.Helens vs Castleford Tigers
    • 3pm KO
    • Betfred Super League – Round 24

Up first, come and cheer our next-gen on, as the Saints Academy face Wakefield in an exciting curtain-raiser. In the previous meeting, the Red V Under-18s edged a thriller 26-28 over in West Yorkshire back in May, so this should be another belter.

Our First Team will aim to build on their impressive 16-46 away victory against Wakefield last Saturday. Eamon O’Carroll will be keen to capitalise on that super second half and carry that momentum into this week’s game. Meanwhile, the Tigers are coming into the fixture with a bounce after their 14-18 win over Hull FC last Friday night.

Interim Head Coach Eamon O’Carroll will preview the match with the media at the Club’s weekly press conference this Thursday afternoon. That will provide the latest updates on the Saints’ squad. Our supporters can watch the press conference on demand and in full on Saints TV later on Thursday.

📰 SQUAD NEWS

Coach O’Carroll makes two changes to the squad that was victorious last weekend over Wakefield.

It’s a welcome sight to have Mark Percival back in the 21-man selection, and he is joined by young Academy forward Oscar Knox, who is drafted into the squad ahead of Saturday afternoon. If Knox is selected to play, he would make his senior St.Helens and Super League debut and would become the sixth Academy homegrown talent to do so in recent weeks.

Lewis Murphy and Alfie Tate are the Saints who step out of the 21-man selection from Round 23.
