Saints squad for Leigh away

St.Helens take on Leigh Leopards in Round 26 of the Betfred Super League 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.

The race for the top six places in the league table is reaching a fever pitch, as The Final Charge towards the Play-Offs delivers more excitement and drama.

Both Saints and Leigh are coming into this game on the back of defeats and eager to bounce back, with just two rounds of the regular season remaining.

Leigh Leopards currently sit in fifth place with 32 points, followed by Hull KR in sixth with 30, and our Saints are in seventh with 28 points.

The Saints have two thrilling weeks ahead. First, they’ll travel to Leigh, and then Hull KR will visit the BrewDog Stadium for Round 27.

Back in February, St.Helens defeated Adrian Lam’s Leopards 20-18 in Round 2. Lam and his team are determined to avenge their defeat on their home turf, while our men led by Eamon O’Carroll are motivated to stay in the hunt for the knockout stages of the Super League season.

Interim Head Coach Eamon O’Carroll will preview this week’s match with the media at the Club’s weekly press conference on Thursday afternoon, which will offer the latest update surrounding his squad.

SQUAD NEWS

Saints make four changes to the squad that was named for last Friday’s match against Leeds Rhinos.

Alex Walmsley came off late last week for a head injury assessment, and whilst he initially passed, he has sadly suffered some delayed symptoms, so has been stood down for this fixture.

Nene Macdonald and Jake Davies both suffered injuries from the meeting with Leeds, which are currently still being assessed.

Daniel Suluka-Fifita was issued a one-match penalty notice by the Match Review Panel and so will be unavailable for selection.

We welcome into our squad heading to Leigh young homegrown talents: back-rower Oscar Knox, half-backs Tyler McGann and Luca Walsh, and prop Alfie Tate.

Should any of the four be selected to play, they would make their senior St.Helens and Super League debuts and would join the five Academy homegrown talents that have debuted for our club in recent weeks.
