The 2026 Saints Academy Tour, proudly sponsored by ASW Solicitors, not only allows our youngsters to be full-time athletes on tour but also gives our group of young men the chance to make lifelong memories.
Our tourists have been hard at work in the gym, on the field, and in review and recovery sessions, all of which together are vitally important during such a busy three weeks. However, just as important for the team’s bonding are activities away from rugby league.
The Saints Academy boys went on the ride of a lifetime, with an exciting jet boat Sydney adventure to see all the sights on a thrilling journey through the beautiful Sydney Harbour.
With all the tour staff also participating, plenty of laughs were had, and group photos were taken of the lads on the boat with the iconic Sydney Opera House, whilst cruising past at speed, one of the world’s most famous landmarks.
The lads also went go-karting, where the competitive element was firmly on display as the players all strived to be on the post-race podium as the fastest tour driver!
The fun and games though are only made rewarding by putting in hard work, and our Academy kept sharp in the gym, preparing for the final match of the tour.
Former Penrith & New South Wales player Mark Geyer has opened his facilities to the Saints for the tour, and a presentation was made of one of the unique 2026 Saints Academy Tour shirts as a small thank you to Mark.
Lessons continued, but this time from a different sport, with the Australian rules (AFL) club Sydney Swans opening their doors to our group, sharing ideas, and giving our young men the chance to try the high-performance facilities of a different sport.
The traditional Sydney Harbour Bridge will be one of the final activities of the tour, but more importantly, the last game is coming up against North Sydney Bears on Friday afternoon, and our Academy will be wanting to finish with a win.
