The Saints' #1 was expected to be out for 16 weeks, and around 10 weeks later, he is back and with a bang.
Welsby revealed that he enjoyed working with our Head Physiotherapist, Nathan Mill, during his injury rehabilitation, and was pestering our coaching staff to get back playing even sooner.
Our #1 reviewed the strong win over the Giants, which saw the Saints run in nine tries and put the West Yorkshire side to the sword. Owen Dagnall looked to have been set up for another superb score with Welsby’s first touch on his return, but it wasn’t to be.
As we head into the final charge of the regular season, Welsby is glad to be back, with more big games to come, including our next fixture on Friday night against Hull FC.
