Saints Women announce partnership with Redcliffe Dolphins

As an international partnership is designed to enhance player development, with the experience of Rugby League in Australia in the Women’s Under-19s Queensland competition.

This partnership could also offer young players in the Redcliffe Dolphins’ Women’s Under-19s the chance to come to the UK for experience too, as St.Helens and Redcliffe Dolphins’ seasons do not overlap.

Two of our young developing St.Helens Women players will get the chance to train and play for the Redcliffe Dolphins from November 2025 in their Harvey Norman Under-19s team.

St.Helens Women’s Academy graduates Cailtin Maylor and Mia Drescher are our two Saints who will be heading Down Under in November, and the Club congratulates the pair on their selection.

Maylor and Drescher will return to the UK and the Saints in April 2026 following the conclusion of the competition. It will effectively be a high-level pre-season for our players, and upon their return in April, the 2026 Betfred Women’s Super League will be in its early stages.

The Saints pair will get to experience pre-season training with Redcliffe, the trials, or friendly fixtures, and then they can push for selection in the six rounds of the Queensland competition, followed by a possible finals series.

Head of Women’s Pathways Jodie Cunningham commented on the news and said: “This is a fantastic new partnership with Redcliffe Dolphins, and one that opens the door for our young developing talents to go and experience a different, elite environment, and vice versa.

“We are thrilled that Caitlin and Mia will be the first participants of the Female Player Exchange and are excited to see how they get on. I am more than sure they will be key players for our Saints Women’s side in the years to come.
