As our St.Helens Scholarship players began to return to training, the Club welcomed our young players and their families to the Totally Wicked Stadium for a Welcome & Induction Evening.
With talks and presentations by a number of our staff, including First Team Head Coach Paul Wellens, and Leadership, Culture & Performance Coach James Roby, our young Saints got a rundown on what to expect in the year ahead.
Headed up by Academy Head Coach Derek Traynor, the evening also saw our new Under 15s Scholars intake get to meet their Under 16s teammates, who are stepping into their second year as part of the Club.
Our newest Saints will be formally introduced to the St.Helens supporters at our final home fixture of the 2025 season against Castleford Tigers at half-time on the field.
We ask our supporters to give our Under 15s a big hand, and to make them feel very welcome at their new club!

Our Under 16s are set to be a part of the ASW Solicitors 2026 Australia Academy Tour alongside our first year Academy talents.
The Tour will take place in October and November of 2026, and will be the Club’s ninth touring group of Australia. The aim has been the same with every tour; to develop more young players to become stars of the future of St.Helens.
Over the years these tours have helped the Club bring on the likes of; Jonny Lomax, Mark Percival, Morgan Knowles, Matty Lees, and Jack Welsby to name just a few of the current senior Saints players who have been proud Saints Academy Tourists.
Many of our tourists have gone on to be part of successful, silverware-winning teams here at St.Helens, and represent their country too with international honours.
