St.Helens Women’s Joint Head Coach, Craig Richards, speaks to Saints TV to look ahead to the 2025 Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final.
Speaking at the Dream Team & Play-Offs launch, less than 24 hours after his Saints secured their place in the showpiece finale, Richards spoke of how proud he was of the team, with one more game to go and the chance to finish the year as champions.
Reflecting on the tough battle with York, Richards believes it will stand the Saints in good stead ahead of facing the Warriors on their own turf.
Whilst the Women’s Challenge Cup Final loss to Wigan stung, Richards expressed his pride in the team for losing only one further game in the Super League season after that, albeit to our Grand Final opponents. He believes it has given the Red V Women even more fire to go one better than last year in the Grand Final against the Warriors.
With a number of youngsters getting their chance to shine this season, Richards is delighted with the progress of players such as Erin McDonald, Caitlin Maylor and Katie Mottershead.
