Mike is Saints' Assistant Coach and High Performance Manager. His role is to identify potential in youngsters and bring them through to the first team and well as being Daniel Anderson's number two.
Mike joined the club in August 1999 as Development Manager and took on the role of Player Performance a couple of years later.
In 2005, he added head coach of the under 18s to his remit and a year later was part of the newly created High Performance Department.
Mike, 31, said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity of coaching at first team level and I am positive that the experience I gain from the year will benefit me on my future pathway whether that is in the High Performance department or in first team coaching in the years to come.”
Chairman Eamonn McManus said: “Mike has been an integral part of the successful youth development team at Saints for many seasons and his experience and attributes will compliment the first team’s push for honours in 2008.”
Mike’s tenure as Assistant Coach will be for 12 months when he will have the option of returning to his High Performance role.
