Longy is an irrepressible character that is never far from the headlines.
In 2006, he sealed his place in rugby league history by becoming the only player to win the Lance Todd Trophy three times after his Man of the Match performance in the Challenge Cup Final against Huddersfield Giants. This followed his awards in 2001, against Bradford Bulls, and 2004, against Wigan Warriors.
Sean won the Man of Steel award in 2000 and scored the title-clinching drop-goal at Old Trafford in the last minute of the 2002 Grand Final.
In 2005, he passed the 2000-point mark for Saints, and is now in second place in Saints’ all-time points charts behind Kel Coslett.
He has been named in the Super League Dream Teams in 2000 and 2006.
In November 2006, he was Man of the Match as the GB Lions defeated Australia in Sydney, but decided to return home shortly afterwards.
