YOUNG Epilepsy ambassador, Mark Flanagan, wore purple boots in the 46-6 win over Leeds on Sunday for My Purple Pledge – the charity’s fundraising and awareness campaign that aims to turn purple pledges into pounds to help create better futures for young lives living with epilepsy.
Mark made his own ‘My Purple Pledge’ and those boots were auctioned off for the charity, which is the UK’s only national charity working exclusively on behalf of the 112,000 children and young people living with the condition across the UK.
My Purple Pledge runs from International Purple Day (March 26) through to National Epilepsy Week (w/c May 20). Young Epilepsy is urging the nation to pledge purple via mypurplepledge.com and take part in fundraising events – from hosting a ‘wear purple day at work or school’, taking part in a purple Zumba or being sponsored to lying in a bath of blackcurrant juice.
