PAUL Wellens says the team ethic at the Saints will help the likes of Jordan Turner, Willie Manu and Alex Walmsley fit in.
At the Club’s recent kit launch he told fans that making sure a player’s family is settled is also vitally important.
“It will probably be easy for Jordan, Willie and Alex to settle as they will get on with the lads, come into training and be in that team environment,” he said. “But it’s important we make their partners and children comfortable too. That makes the player’s lives easier and they can then get on with the job.
“We have people at the club that make sure this happens.”
Wellens is due back in pre-season in the next week or so and has been keeping himself trim since the end of Super League XVII.
“I’ve been training and even had a session with Jammer (James Graham) in the gym to get ready for the new season,” he added. “We’re off on a golfing break together soon too.
“I’m already looking forward to the new season and the fans are vitally important. There was a lot of anticipation and excitement on moving to a new stadium and it probably took a little while for us all to find our place and create an atmosphere.
“We enjoyed playing here and as long as fans keep coming through the doors then that is all that matters.”
