FOLLOWING a pitch inspection yesterday by ex-Super League referee Ian Smith, Rochdale have confirmed that Friday night’s match is, at present, still on.
However, for the game to go ahead the snow that is currently lying on top of the covers needs to be cleared.
The Hornets’ groundsman, James Blackburn and his assistants, Tony and Drew have put a plea out to anyone who can spare an hour or so to come to the club and help with the mammoth task of clearing the pitch.
Shovels and wheelbarrows are provided, as is as much hot chocolate as you can drink and a well-deserved pint in the bar following Fridays game.

The match on Friday January 25 kicks off at 8pm.
Saints’ side will contain both first team squad players (like Anthony Walker pictured) and the next generation of first team players who will be part of the new Under 19s competition.
Entry is £10 adults, £8 concessions (oap, NUS) and £3 kids.
