SAINTS’ Alex Walmsley is backing BRUT for Men’s search to find Super League’s Fan of Pride.
He is asking fans to ‘MAN UP’ and nominate their local heroes to find a national Fan of Pride – and they will win some great prizes including a money-can’t-buy experience to train with a Super League team and season tickets.
BRUT’S campaign is running across all 14 Super League teams with each club crowning their very own Fan of Pride. The St Helens winner will go forward to represent their club in the national competition, with the overall BRUT Fan of Pride winner announced in September.
BRUT aim to celebrate the Super League fan and each club’s community, highlighting the importance of the fans, the fantastic atmosphere that they create and the role they have in their local area.
Alex Walmsley was chosen to be the St Helens Fan of Pride player ambassador because he is a real brute of a man, whose stature on the pitch is matched by his approachability off it. He is well respected in the community by having close ties with his former club – Batley – and he also helps out with his amateur team. Alex embodies the values represented by the BRUT Fan of Pride Award and is delighted to be part of the judging panel to find Saints’ Fan of Pride.
Anyone can be nominated into the competition, with entries closing at midnight on June 9 and shortlists being announced for each club on Father’s Day (June 16).
Alex will sit on a panel of judges to select the St Helens Fan of Pride shortlist, alongside a local journalist and a key community member (Mayor/local policeman etc).
So whether it is a local coach or dad/mum who takes training come rain or shine, the club janitor, or the oldest, most loyal supporter who attends every home game, BRUT wants to hear about the great contributions the fans make and looks forward to nominations throughout May and June.

The overall national BRUT Fan of Pride 2013 will be announced and awarded in September, with the overall winner receiving two season tickets to their Super League club and a money-can’t-buy opportunity to train with their team.
