THATTO Heath Saints Girls under 16s team played a friendly against Ashton Bears at the weekend and won 48-22 writes Laura Birchall.
This is the first time the new team has had the chance to play against another side and be able to put what they had learnt during pre-season training to good use!
The game began as a tough encounter between the two sides, each displaying fantastic footwork and impressive teamwork.
However, it was Pip Birchall who scored the first try for Saints girls and she also completed the conversion kick.
The other tryscorers for the Saints came in the form of Alisha Lea, Emily Hill and two apiece for Jade Ward and Rebecca Rotherham.
With Pip Birchall completing six from six conversions and Alisha Lea adding another, the Saints Girls illustrated their strength, teamwork and skill to win the match.
