SAINTS legend Paul Wellens has helped Super League partner BRUT launch Fan of Pride, a nationwide search to find rugby league fans that Man Up for their sport and community.
The campaign – now in its second season – will run across all 14 Super League teams with each club crowning their very own Fan of Pride. They will then go forward to represent their club in the national competition, with the overall BRUT Fan of Pride winner announced in September.
BRUT aim to celebrate the Super League fan and each club’s community, highlighting the importance of the fans, the fantastic atmosphere that they create and the role they play in their local area.
St Helens are supporting Fan of Pride through our player ambassador, Paul Wellens, and he said: “I’m delighted to be backing Fan of Pride. As someone who’s been around for a little while I know exactly what the Saints fans mean to the players and I’d love it if we could have one of our supporters winning the overall Fan of Pride. So get nominating.”
Anyone can be entered for Fan of Pride with nominations closing at midnight on June 9. A panel of judges from each Super League club will then select a shortlist of three entries per team to be put to a public online vote.
The overall national BRUT Fan of Pride 2014 will be announced and awarded in September, and will win £5,000 for their Super League clubs’ community foundation, two 2015 season tickets to their Super League club, an invitation to the Man of Steel awards, a signed jersey from the Super League club and some fantastic BRUT product.
