ST HELENS College is to host an exciting and innovative event which is set to inspire young people across the region.
The event is taking place as part of The Skills Show Experience, supported by The Skills Show, the European Social Fund and the National Careers Service and, it is being organised locally by St Helens College in conjunction with St Helens Council, St Helens Star and St Helens Rugby Football Club.
The College has worked with Liverpool City Region Employment and Skills Board to secure the funding to deliver the event in the hope of bringing together employers and organisations from across the region to raise awareness of the pathways and opportunities available for young people.
The St Helens Skill Show Experience will be held on October 23 at Langtree Park and aims to raise the aspirations of young people by providing first-class, impartial careers advice and guidance as well as information on a wide range of industry sectors and organisations.
Young people and adults from across St Helens, Knowsley, Halton and Wigan will be given the opportunity to meet employers, participate in fun and interactive activities and learn about the potential career pathways available to them.
The free event hopes to bring together established and prestigious employers from across the Liverpool City Region as it focuses on bridging skills gaps and raising awareness of new job opportunities in the region’s key growth sectors: Low Carbon, Superport, Knowledge and Visitor Economy.
Applications are now being invited from employers, training providers, careers advisors and other organisations from across the region who can provide a range of inspiring activities reflecting skills shortages and local economic needs.
