STATE of Mind is a campaign to build people’s mental fitness so they can perform better on and off the field.
The initiative aims to point people to where there is support for players and people who don’t access help.
- It delivers mental fitness sessions to Super League, Championship and Community clubs
- The team has travelled more than 10,000 miles to do it so far
- State of Mind has had a dedicated round of Super League fixtures in each of the last four seasons.
- No other sport in the UK has ever themed a round of fixtures for mental well-being
- Cited by UK Government Suicide Prevention One Year On (2014) as an exemplar of good practice to access males using sport
- More than 4200 rugby league players, officials and students have accessed the education session
- 85% had never accessed mental health training before
- Suicide rates in rugby league areas are higher than the national average
