SUPER League are delighted to announce that British indie rock band The Charlatans will headline the pre-match and half-time entertainment at the 2015 First Utility Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday October 10 (6.00pm).
The Mancunians have become one of Britain’s best loved bands over the years with hits such as ‘The Only One I Know’, ‘One to Another’, ‘How High’ and ‘North County Boy’.
They have had a busy summer playing at festivals such as Glastonbury and V Festivals, and will be making their debut performance at Old Trafford this October.
The Charlatans will be playing a number of hits and new songs from current album ‘Modern Nature’ pre-match and half-time at the Grand Final ahead of their UK tour which starts on December 9.
Frontman Tim Burgess said: “My Dad’s a big Rugby League fan and he used to play so we’re honoured to be at the Super League Grand Final. When I was a kid it was my ambition to play at Old Trafford so it’s a dream come true for me too, maybe not how I imagined when I was 10 but this’ll do fine!”

“We knew we had to follow up this year with another great band and we have certainly done that with the announcement of The Charlatans.
“Not only are we guaranteed thrilling action and entertainment on the pitch, we are also ensuring there is plenty of quality entertainment for both sports and music fans to enjoy before and during half-time of the match.
“Saturday October 10 is certainly going to be a busy day for sporting history to be made in Manchester and we are sure that the entertainment on show at Old Trafford will be a huge part of that.”
