JONNY Lomax’ rehab from injury is going well and he is expecting to return next season.
Despite a piece in the St Helens Reporter this week that suggested he’d suffered a ‘fresh injury blow’ and ‘a major setback’ – nothing could be further from the truth in the fullback’s return from an ACL tear suffered in March.
“I had surgery in March but got an infection which delayed my rehab even before it started,” he said. “I would have liked to have returned this year – but the infection knocked me back and probably took away any chance of getting back this year.
“That always was a long shot and sadly it didn’t work out.
“It is probably was a blessing in disguise as it has given me extended period that I might not have been given to get right.
“I’ll be back next season and I’m living in the gym at the moment.”
