Kieras Support Challenge

KIERAS Occasions, who will sponsor Saints Academy Graduate Danny Richardson for the 2016 season, have thrown their support behind the 2015 Chocolate Orange Challenge.

For those who may not have seen the Challenge before, it was started in 2011 by Saints fan Christopher Lamb following the sad passing of his son Elliott Lamb. Elliott was a mascot at one of the final games to be played at Knowsley Road in 2010.

Christopher collects Terry’s Chocolate Oranges from kind doners, friends, family and businesses in the run up to Christmas and then passes them onto Doctors and Nurses in Children’s and cancer hospitals as well as Hospices in the North West and around the UK.

It is a gesture that grew from the time Elliott was cared for in hospital and has since grown each year to more than 5,200 being collected last Christmas.

Chris commented: “I know that Christmas is an extremely sad time for many people, and by doing this positive thing each year we want to encourage people to cherish their loved ones, feel that they can talk about them, and thank those people that were there for us during our darkest hours.”

Chris is aiming to deliver this year’s Oranges on the December 18.

For anyone wishing to donate a Chocolate Orange to the Challenge they can be dropped off at Kieras Occasions, located on North Road, St Helens.
