Amor: Preparation Key

KYLE Amor was at the hub of a superb pack performance against Huddersfield and is looking for more of the same tonight.

The prop made 136 metres against a tough forward line to propel Saints to a 30-16 victory.

“We knew they had a big pack and therefore we expected a tough game,” he said. “And that is what we got in conditions that were less than ideal.

“We stuck to our part of the deal though and that allowed Luke Walsh to, for me, have his best game for the club. He took the game by the scuff of the neck and was outstanding.

“We got the balance right and it was a smart decision to have four forwards on the bench. As big Alex hadn’t played in pre-season it allowed him to come out of the cannon. I thought the whole pack had a good game.”

Amor believes a similar performance is needed tonight when they face the Red Devils.

“All teams are competitive this season,” he continued. “If you don’t have your head on from the off you will get burnt. We’re looking forward to the challenge.

“There were lots of close games over the weekend but you can’t focus on them. It’s a cliché but you can only take one game as it comes.

“We have looked at Salford and we will have to be mentally and physically prepared when we take them on.”
