JON Wilkin says Saints have to be cautious over Jonny Lomax as he continues his return from injury.
Echoing the comments of Keiron Cunningham earlier in the week, he praised the full-back’s return but says there needs to be patience.
“I think Jonny had been slightly forgotten because we haven’t had him available for so long,” he told the Liverpool Echo. “But inside the Saints camp we’ve been thinking that when we get Jonny back, whatever position he plays, we’re going to have something really exciting.
“Jonny’s performance was really good; he scored a couple of tries and he’s going to get a lot better. We just need to be careful because Jonny has had a really serious injury.
“We need to look after him and make sure we do the right things because we want him to be around for years to come at St Helens.”
