Tasi Looking For Streak

LAMA Tasi says Saints displayed character in their win over Salford – and now they need to get on a streak.

The forward put in an impressive stint against his former employers and was part of the second half drive that eventually won the game.

“We needed to get that win,” he said. “At 22-20 the game was in the balance and it was a real test of character. It was good to see us come through the other end.

“We knew we weren’t good against Hull FC so it was good for group morale to get a win. Hopefully, we can get a streak going from here .

“The Cup has gone but what we can control is how we go in the league. It’s all we can win now; our next three or four games are against top teams. Good results would set us up for the rest of the year.

“The league is tight. We could be sat top in the next month or so and that is our aim. We have to concentrate, do what is best and play our footy. There aren’t any easy games.

“Sunday should be a good game. Most of the Giants’ players are back on deck and they play some good footy. They should have beaten Catalan probably too.

“I’m looking forward to playing in that stadium an atmosphere.”

Tasi has notched up 864 metres this season and added 93 to that tally from 13 carries on Friday.

“I feel I’m going ok,” he continued. “I am still learning heaps and want to keep it up. I prefer to start matches but whatever KC thinks is best for the team I will do. I just want to contribute what I can to the team.

“The fans are fanatical here and ruthless in a way too! Without them the game wouldn’t be what it is.”
