Joe Batchelor is looking forward to getting stuck in at the Saints after a superb League 1 campaign with York.
The 24-year-old was outstanding in the City Knights promotion winning season and has now set his sights on his first season in Super League.
“I really enjoyed watching Saints play last season,” he said. “They were impressive but hopefully we can go one step further this year.
“I trained with the side during the course of the year and have now met most of the players.
“That was surreal for me, training with the stars of Super League, but they seem like a good set of blokes and have a good work ethic.
“That is what I like to do and I’m looking forward to it.”
Joe played most of the season for York at centre – scoring 23 tries in 27 appearances – but says it isn’t his preferred position.
“I have to admit that second row is my favoured spot,” he added. “Playing at centre helped me out for sure in learning a different role but to be honest I will play wherever I can for this club.”
Joe will be a Saint in 2019, will you?
