One change to 19 man squad ahead of Warrington clash

There is just one change to Saints' 19 man squad ahead of Thursday night's clash with rivals Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as James Roby drops out and Matty Costello comes in.

Costello missed out on a place in the squad ahead of Friday’s win over Wakefield, but returns this week after scoring for Leigh Centurians in their win over Swinton on Sunday. Zeb Taia retains his place in the Saints 19 after coming through the win unscathed following his shoulder injury.

Adam Swift was drafted into the 19 man squad and started Friday night’s win in place of Regan Grace who picked up a slight knock in the week, but Swift again isn’t included in the initial squad this week.

Alex Walmsley (eye), Morgan Knowles (rib) and Lachlan Coote (knee) are still missing.

As for Warrington, there’s no Blake Austin (ankle), Jack Hughes (ruptured testicle) or Tom Lineham (suspended), but in comes Academy players Riley Dean and Josh Thewlis. Also missing are Dec Patton, Mike Cooper, Daryl Clark, Jason Clark and Joe Philbin.

Saints travel to second placed Warrington with the League Leaders Shield already wrapped up after victory on Friday followed by Wire’s loss to Catalans in Perpignan on Saturday.

But with a Challenge Cup Final at Wembley on the horizon in less than three weeks time, both teams will be looking for that psychological edge on Thursday night.
