Saints' Jonny Lomax has been named February's Player of the Month and he picked up his award at another hugely successful Networking Event at the Totally Wicked Stadium this morning.
Over 80 guests from local businesses were in attendance to watch Lomax pick up his award before hearing from Foundation partners Ian Mackenzie [Lucam Retreats C.I.C.] and Platinum Club partners Emma Baker [ELCONS, Employment Law Consultants Ltd].
Lomax has made five appearances thus far scoring three tries and laying on another seven – just one behind Super League assists leader Jackson Hastings – with one game in hand.
He also sits 7th in the Super League carries statistics with 94 as he helped Saints picked up wins over Salford, Hull FC and Toronto.
Upon collecting his award at today’s Stapleton Derby sponsored event, Lomax said: “It is nice to get personal accolades, but everything we do at Saints is based on the team and I am focussed on helping the team bounce back from last weekend’s defeat.
“Off the back of the forwards hard work, it is easy for us halves to play our game and of course I personally hope I can continue to improve, but my main aim is to help the team as we look to kick on through this season.”
Head Coach Kristian Woolf paid credit to Lomax and revealed why he selected him as his Player of the Month for February.
“Jonny is a real leader in our team. He has been excellent both on and off the pitch since I joined the club. His performances throughout February have been top class and he like the rest of the team are focused on improving as we move through the season.”
On the success of the event Saints’ General Manager Dave Hutchinson said: “We have ran our Networking Events here at the Totally Wicked Stadium for a number of years now and this one was yet another huge success.
“I want to thank all our partners and local businesses who attend. It’s great to see the vast range of organisations come together to share best practice and we look forward to next month’s event on 12th April.”
