Each day whilst we are all in Lockdown this week we will recall a famous match from the current day thanks to Saints Heritage Society.
2 APRIL 1952
1952 Northern Rugby League: St.Helens 13-5 Warrington at Knowsley Road.
This match in front of 14,000 saw the debut of Widnes-born fitness fanatic Vince Peter Patrick Karalius at loose forward at the age of 19.
For any scrum-half opposing him, life would be somewhat more difficult in future, facing the Wild Bull of the Pampas!
A true rugby legend on both continents.
