Dacia Magic Weekend at St James’ Park is postponed

Betfred Super League have today confirmed that Dacia Magic Weekend at St James’ Park is postponed.

The event was due to make its return to Newcastle on May 23-24.

Betfred Super League intends to keep Dacia Magic Weekend in the 2020 schedule and all options are being considered as part of extensive and ongoing fixture remodelling. More information will be provided once there is a clearer picture regarding the resumption of the season.

Executive Chairman Robert Elstone said: “It’s regrettable that Super League has had to make this decision – but in light of the current situation, it is sadly unavoidable.

“Our fans will be disappointed because they were all looking forward to returning to Newcastle; however, Magic is still firmly in our plans for 2020, with St James’ Park, at a later date, one of the options being considered.”

Tickets already bought for Dacia Magic Weekend in Newcastle will be transferable to a later date at St James’ Park, or an alternative venue depending on when the season restarts.

Please find below Betfred Super League’s FAQ’s relating to tickets purchased for the event:

Q. Will my existing ticket(s) be valid for the rearranged date?

Yes as per the RFL ticketing terms and conditions your existing tickets will remain valid for the rearranged date.

Q. When will you know the rearranged date?

Please be patient with us during this time of uncertainty. As soon as it is possible for us to announce the rearranged date, we will be in touch to explain the next steps.

Q. What happens to my ticket(s) if I cannot attend the rearranged date?

After the new rearranged date is published, and should you be unable to attend the postponed event, you will be able to take one of the following courses of action should you wish to cancel/return your tickets:

1.     receive a credit note for the full amount paid, including booking fees, to be used for any other 2020 or 2021 RFL Ticketing event or

2.     receive a full refund of the ticket price that you paid

Q. I already know I don’t want to attend the event on a rearranged date. When can I request a refund?

Given the unprecedented circumstances, we understand that some fans may be eager to receive their money back as soon as possible.

As you can appreciate, while the Ticket Office team continues to be operational, we are working remotely, in line with the government restrictions, so it may take some time to respond to queries. We appreciate your patience and ask for you not to contact us at this time until we have more certainty about the rearranged date. At that time, Super League (Europe) will confirm how to claim your refund.

Q. Can you compensate me on travel and/or accommodation expenses for events that are now cancelled?

As per the T&C’s of sale, unfortunately we cannot compensate anything beyond the cost of the tickets. In the event of a cancellation, this will be communicated at the earliest opportunity to give ticket holders as much notice as possible.
