Paul Wellens insists it will be a "special time" for the country and for the town of St Helens once Australia, Tonga, Wales and co arrive for some mouth-watering games at our Totally Wicked Stadium next year as part of the Rugby League World Cup.
Tonga – coached by Saints boss, Kristian Woolf, will play two matches, going head-to-head with Papa New Guinea and Wales – who could have both Regan Grace and Morgan Knowles in their ranks.
Italy, who, together with Tonga, will train in St Helens during their stay in England, will battle it out with 11 time winners and current World Champions, Australia.
The men’s group fixtures are evening games and will be played at our 18,000 capacity Totally Wicked Stadium, considered by many to be the best purpose-built club rugby stadium in the country.
And Wellens, who will be part of Sean Wane’s England coaching set up next year, insists it will be a hugely special time for the town come the RLWC2021 whilst he also believes it will be equally special for Saints boss Kristian Woolf who will lead his hugely successful Tonga side out at his new St.Helens home.
The likes of Regan Grace and Morgan Knowles could also feature at the home of the Saints if selected by Wales to represent their nation in a competition which is set to be one to remember.
