Match Preview: Coral Challenge Cup – Warrington vs Saints

Saints take on the Warrington Wolves on Saturday (2:30pm), at Salford's AJ Bell Stadium and to get you in the mood for matchday, we have all the information you need right here in our match preview!

BACKGROUND…

Saints head straight into the Quarter Final after a re-draw a few weeks ago meant we received a bye in the Sixth Round. This will be Kristian Woolf’s first taste of the Challenge Cup since his arrival and he will hope his side can continue our strong run of form after six straight wins following the restart. A win would also right the wrongs of last year’s Wembley heartbreak where the Wolves came out on top.

Warrington head into this game in good form themselves. Steve Price’s men are, like Saints, on a run of six straight wins with the last two victories over Castleford (10-12) and Hull FC (37-12) impressive given a number of absentees they were missing.

Who will come out on top on Saturday?

COACH AND PLAYERS PREVIEW

Hear from Head Coach Kristian Woolf ahead of the match as he admits the players can’t worry about the heartbreak of losing the Cup final last year, but knows Warrington, like Saints, are in good form.

Alex Walmsley also looks ahead to Saturday’s clash insisting Saints must be on their game whilst the big prop also reveals the secret around his current run of form and how James Graham has helped the group.
