'Saddle Up With The Foundation' is a new concept coming to St Helens.
The project gives families, cycling newbies and those wanting to make a positive change in their life the opportunity to exercise and socialise in the means of cycling. We want to get families around St Helens active!
Equipment and bicycles will be provided at the sessions on the day, so anybody can turn up! More information regarding dates, times and venues, will be announced in the coming weeks (When COVID-19 Restrictions allow).
Mark Ferguson who will be running the Saddle up sessions said:
“We want everyone to enjoy the benefits of cycling! Whether that be someone who hasn’t exercised in a while and is looking to get fit, or even for those that want attend to socialise and make new friends.”
“I’m proud to come from St Helens, I’ve been a lifelong saints fan and have adored the club from a young age. I’m privileged to help with the saddle up sessions, I will hopefully make a positive difference within our community, aiming to get locals active again, whilst using cycling as a way of exercise.”
Steve Leonard, SCDF Director followed on to say:
“Its great to partner up with Mark and the team at Saddle Up, to form ‘Saddle Up With The Foundation’ our aim is to provide as many ways as possible for people in our community to become active, stay active and stay healthy both in mind and body.”
“With Mark on-board, we will be able to provide opportunities for each individual young and old, experienced or beginner, to enjoy the experience being back on a bike. We will look to provide a variety of opportunities in the coming months, watch this space!”
