Saints Community Development Foundation is back out in the local community delivering coaching sessions in schools across St Helens!
SCDF has been delivering schools coaching in St Helens for over 10 years. Along with our successful Rugby League coaching programmes our Foundation also deliver high quality Multi Skills, Cheerleading and Fit4All sessions within the local community.
We understand that this is an exceptionally challenging time for schools, staff and pupils and hope we are able to provide some relief and enjoyment through our coaching.
Our Sky Try package continues to deliver schools the highest quality FREE introduction to Rugby League. The package also gives children the opportunity to visit the Totally Wicked Stadium for a ‘Saints Sky Try Stadium Experience’ where they recieve a Stadium Tour, learn about the heritage of the club and enjoy games and skills along the way. These experiences are on hold for now, but will be back once restrictions allow along with our school festivals and events.
Multi Skills sessions give KS1 & KS2 children the opportunity to try a wide range of different sports, games and activities. In line with individual school requirements, we deliver a programme of sessions that cover the fundamental movement skills. All children learn and develop at a different pace and we recognise this process and put in place action plans to help them achieve their individual goals.
Through our cheerleading sessions children learn a variety of techniques and dance routines with professional cheerleaders aiding them along the way. A Star Saints Angels are our official Cheerleader Team at St.Helens R.F.C. The Angels, who are all qualified instructors, work with schools and groups across Merseyside on a variety of projects including giving children the opportunity to perform at the stadium when government guidelines allow.
Fit4All is a program that focuses on healthy eating as well as an active lifestyle. The PE coaching sessions show children the importance of exercise and the accompanying healthy eating education sets them up for whole rounded well-being.
Children’s well-being has always been at the heart of everything we do and now is as an important a time as any to make sure we are supporting them in every way we can. We have specific Mental Health workshops that aim to help children and young people enhance their emotional well-being by learning at least 12 resilience building actions.
The key objectives at all of our sessions are to:
- Build confidence in children
- Improve their social & communication skills and
- Allow children to approach challenges with an open mind without the fear of failure.
All sessions are designed and adaptable to the needs of the individual children and are fun, challenging and rewarding. We are committed to providing children a Saints experience they won’t forget.
