Meet your community clubs!

Today we introduce Clock Face Miners RLFC!

Who are we?

Clock Face Miners ARLFC is the oldest amateur Rugby League Club in St Helens and in 2021 we celebrate our centenary.  A club with a long and proud history it continues to grow and provide opportunities to play our great game from the ages of 3 through to Adulthood.

Using the powerful impact of sport we are able to inspire children to live healthy lifestyles, improve their mental health, understand the importance of team work and offer unforgettable experiences.

All coaches are qualified & DBS/Safeguarding checked, working closely with St Helens RLFC Community Foundation to deliver high quality programmes that will benefit children of all abilities, with the emphasis, especially at the youngest age groups, on development of social & physical skills in a fun, positive environment.

Clock Face has been guiding & graduating players into professional clubs since 1922, with former Clock Face players inducted into the St Helens RLFC Hall Of Fame.  We continue to provide a complete pathway into representative and professional Rugby League for those young players with the ambition and talent, Josh Eaves being the latest former Clock Face Miners Junior to make his Super League debut for Saints.

We have great links with our local schools in the Clock Face & Sutton areas, with our coaches assisting in the St Helens RLFC Community Foundation Schools Programme.

Where are we?

The club is located at Clock Face Miners Recreation Club, Crawford Street, Clockface and provides excellent facilities, with modern changing rooms, showers & toilets, first aid room, refurbished clubhouse and 2 recently relayed pitches, all on one enclosed site.

Our Ethos

The care and wellbeing of our players is primary.  The club has a dedicated Child Welfare Officer, and the Committee and Coaches frequently engage in ‘Time to Listen’ sessions with its Junior teams as part of the Rugby Football League Safeguarding Program, ensuring the best interests of the children is always at the core of our planning and decision making.

We also endeavour to provide the highest standard of coaching and player management possible, with all coaches frequently undertaking reviews and participating in development courses.

What’s next?

The club’s mission statement is to continually drive forward and improve.  We take pride in achieving this in recent years, with our Junior Section growing to 7 teams and both Adult teams gaining promotions, the first team now competing in the prestigious National Conference League.

This year we are currently in the process of working with the ‘Created by’ World Cup 2021 funding stream, to further develop our facilities and bring with it more exiting opportunities for new and existing club members. The Recreation Club also has future development plans for new outdoor artificial pitches with floodlighting. From April 2021 the Club is looking to start 2 new junior teams at Under 7s and 8s, also returning from this date will be the popular Cubs sessions (Ages 3 to 6) every Saturday morning 11.30am.

We are always looking to increase player numbers and strengthen all our teams, we are particularly keen to recruit new players for our U11s and U13s.

Interested?

As we celebrate our centenary, come and be part of the oldest amateur Rugby League club in St Helens as it starts an exciting new era.  Everybody is made to feel very welcome.
