The Veterans of The Foundation have now started to look after and place poppies on each wargrave currently at the St Helens Cemetery again.
Last year we believe we placed poppies on all Wargraves in The St Helens Cemetery! We have 325 Commonweath Wargraves in the cemetery from both world wars and from recent conflicts. We’ve also got around 300 or so headstone dedications of people who were killed in action abroad who unfortunately are not buried here. So in total we covered over 600 wargraves.
This year we have started to maintain and look after the wargraves again that are located at The St Helens Cemetery.
Steve Leonard, Saints Community Development Foundations Director said:
“I’d like to thank our partners The Friends of St helens cemetery for giving The Veterans of The Foundation this opportunity to pay their respects for their military comrades.
I know it goes a long way with their mental health and wellbeing and forms part of their individual journeys and it means a lot to each individual who takes part, keep up the good work to all involved!”
