Match Preview: Warrington vs Saints – R22

Saints face rivals Warrington Wolves in the Betfred Super League Round 22 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium this evening with kick off at the earlier time of 7:30pm and you can find out everything you need to know right here in our Match Preview story!

BACKGROUND…

Fresh off the back of an impressive win away at Huddersfield on Thursday night, Steve Price’s Warrington side will be aiming to complete a league double over the Saints this season. Warrington edged a hard fought contest back in Round 10 where Ben Currie’s try was enough to seperate the sides in a 6-2 win for the Wire.

Wire could potentially see themselves leap frog St Helens into second by the end of Magic Weekend should Warrington win both games and Saints also lose to Catalans Dragons at St James Park next weekend.

But Saints will of course have other plans as we arrive into this one in good form following impressive wins over Wigan Warriors (2-26) and more recently Leigh Centurions  (42-12). Kristian Woolf’s men will be hoping to edge ourselves closer to securing at least second spot in the Betfred Super League table.
