Lomax to miss “around four weeks” says Woolf

Head Coach Kristian Woolf has provided an update on the condition of Jonny Lomax after our stand off picked up an injury in the victory over Leigh on Thursday.

Lomax was helped off the field on the 51st minute after an awkward fall following a tackle and the boss has revealed that the scan results have indicated a minor hamstring injury with an approximate absence of around four weeks.

Woolf spoke to Sky Sports ahead of Saints clash with Warrington and said: “At this stage we are thinking around four weeks. It is certainly not as bad as we thought at the time. We thought the worst at first, but four weeks is quite positive news.

“Knowing Jonny he is going to be extremely diligent and has every chance of coming back even earlier.”

Woolf has named his starting 13 for tonight’s clash with Warrington which is live on Sky Sports with kick off at 7:30pm. Follow the game live in our Match Centre here.
