Veterans of The Foundation attend Battle of Britain commemoration

Last Saturday, The Veterans of The Foundation attended a commemorative event in Wigan.

A Veteran of The Foundation, Paul Pennington attended the Battle of Britain commemorative event with his South Arabia Campaign colleague Tony Hodson, organised by Wigan Council and Gillian Birchall.

Paul represented The Veterans of The Foundation and displayed our standard at the event, photographs below include the Veterans of the Foundation Standard, Paul Pennington and Tony Hodson and the Mayor of Wigan, Councillor Yvonne Klieve and her consort Mark Klieve.

The Battle of Britain was a pivotal air campaign that took place between July and October of 1940. The 15 September 1940 was officially named Battle of Britain as it was the day when RAF Fighter Command claimed what proved to be a decisive victory over the German Luftwaffe. A total of 2937 Aircrew stood with us on this day.
