St.Helens forward Matty Lees was originally charged with a Grade B 'Dangerous Contact' charge with a one-match penalty notice. Following an appeal has been downgraded to a Grade A, reducing the punishment to a £250 fine.
The independent Operational Rules Tribunal met on Tuesday night, with Lees pleading guilty to a Grade B charge in the Betfred Super League Semi-Final match against Catalan Dragons last Friday night (6th October), but challenged the grading.
The ORT upheld the challenge and downgraded the charge to a Grade A, which also reduced the original punishment.
Lees can therefore be available for England’s first Test match against Tonga on Sunday, 22nd October at the Totally Wicked Stadium – if selected.
