St Helens Women are delighted to announce the signing of Beri Salihi from Wigan Warriors ahead of the 2024 season!
Salihi joins the club on the back of a breakout year at Wigan. The fullback will move over Billinge Hill ahead of the 2024 campaign though, and joined Matty Smith’s side for pre-season training, which got underway on Tuesday 21st November, as we build towards next season.
Salihi formerly trained for Saints at academy level, before leaving to join the Cherry & Whites. She will now re-join the Saints, in a move similar to the one current Saints’ Lucie Sams and Luci McColm made a year ago.
A member of the England DiSE programme too, Salihi is currently in her second year of the DiSE programme. She also scored a try in Wigan’s Betfred Challenge Cup Semi Final defeat to Leeds Rhinos at Headingley in 2023.

You can read Matty Smith’s thoughts below:
Matty Smith on Salihi choosing to join Saints: “Delighted to be able to welcome a player like Beri to the club. I have been a fan of hers since I first got into this role, and now I will get the opportunity to work with her over the coming months.”
“She is a local girl as well, so she will be in a familiar environment. The girls here are very welcoming and will support her, as she gets to grips with her new side.”
“She has the potential to make it to the top, and I cannot wait to see her on the pitch in a Saints shirt come 2024!”
Stay tuned for Salihi’s first Saints interview on Saints TV coming soon
