On Thursday, 15th May 2025 members of our Saints Scholarship and Academy teams successfully completed their 'Cycle To Perpignan' challenge, all in support of the ASW Solicitors 2026 Australia St.Helens Academy Tour!
Just before St.Helens’ Under 18s team took to the field to face Hull FC’s Academy, at 5pm, members of the non-playing Saints and our Under 16s Scholars started pedalling on their static bikes collectively as a team to go over 1,260 kilometres (or 785 miles) outside the Totally Wicked Stadium.
That distance is the same as going from our home ground the Totally Wicked Stadium to the Stade Gilbert Brutus, the home venue of the Catalans Dragons who our First Team took on later that evening also.
If not pedalling, they were collecting donations and raising awareness of the challenge and our upcoming youth team Tour.
In just under three hours, our groups of young men managed to as a team push and drag themselves through to reach the finish line (with a little help from their coaches) and then headed into the ground to see our senior Saints secure a strong 40-0 win over Catalans!
A massive thank you to the supporters who kindly donated their money to the ‘Cycle To Perpignan’ challenge. On the night we were pleased to have raised around £2,800 for the ASW Solicitors 2026 Australia St.Helens Academy Tour!
