Tristan Sailor up for Player of the Month for June 2025

St.Helens' Tristan Sailor is on the six-man shortlist for the Glen's Vodka Player of the Month for June 2025.

Back in the fullback position, Tristan has been on fire in three matches that the Saints played in June, scoring three tries and setting up a further ten in assists!

In our visit to the Salford Community Stadium, Sailor created three of Kyle Feldt’s tries with perfectly weighted, over-the-top passes, which the prolific winger went on to finish strongly. Our #6 also showed some remarkable quick thinking with a short kick for Harry Robertson close to the try-line.

Sailor followed his four assists at Salford with a terrific home performance against Leeds Rhinos. Tristan created the first four-pointer of the game with a quick pass to Deon Cross to cut out a Leeds man wanting to cut the play down. Moving out to the left edge the fullback then sent youngster Owen Dagnall in for our second try. To add the icing on the cake, Sailor in the dying moments of the match wrapped up the result with a run against a retreating defence for a try of his own.

Finally, in a professional performance over Salford but this time at the Totally Wicked Stadium, Sailor added four assists, and two more scores to his personal try tally as well.

Feldt, again, could thank Tristan for a beauty of a pass for Sailor’s first set-up drawing in two defenders before throwing a basketball pass to the winger. Daryl Clark was the recipient of his next try-involvement, with our #9 supporting Sailor’s run after he poked his nose through, and Tristan offloaded to Clark who ran under the posts. Jake Burns grabbed his first try of the season thanks to Sailor who supported a high kick that was caught by Feldt before being offloaded to our #6. Sailor ran under the posts but before dotting it down gifted it to Burns instead. His final assist of the game was a mirror image of one of the assists he got in the away fixture a fortnight earlier, again, a large arching pass to Feldt.

Sailor’s two tries against Salford at home were very pleasing to watch too. Harry Robertson after fending away and spinning back into the middle of the field passed to an onrushing Sailor to carve through the Red Devils’ defence. His second try of this fixture, and fifteenth of the season, came thanks to taking on the line and throwing a dummy close to the line to spot a gap and ground the ball.

An impressive June for Sailor, and you can cap it off by voting for him to be Player of the Month!
