It's almost time to start the Saints Women's 2026 season!
Our Women’s competitive season begins in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup away at Huddersfield Giants as part of the Group Stage of the competition on Sunday, 5th April at Laund Hill, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm. Entry at Laund Hill will be £5 for adults, and £3 for Under 16s.
Saints 2026 Members get access to the BrewDog Stadium for the Saints Women’s regular season home matches that are played at our home ground.
Sunday, 19th April will be our first Women’s home match of the year, and it will be an exciting fixture, as for the very first time St.Helens take on Catalans Dragons in the second Challenge Cup. Group Stage game.
The league season will kick off on Sunday, 17th May in Cumbria with Derek Hardman & Craig Richards taking the Red V Women to Barrow Raiders for the opening round of the Betfred Women’s Super League.
For 2026, the the BWSL will operate a split-season format with teams facing each other once, home or away, in a single round of fixtures. Following the regular season, teams will split into the top and bottom four teams playing each other home and away in an extended Play-Off series.
The winners of the extended Play-Offs will be crowned League Leaders and earn a place in the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final, whilst the teams in second and third will play each other for the remaining spot. The team finishing the season in eighth position will face the winners of the National Championship with the winner earning a spot in Super League for 2027.
