The Biggest Derby In Rugby League - the traditional Good Friday match is back at the Home of the Saints, as we host fierce rivals Wigan Warriors at the BrewDog Stadium on Friday, 3rd April, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

This match is SOLD OUT – there are no more tickets available. We advise supporters who do have their tickets or Membership to ensure they have them ready for Friday afternoon.

The Ticket Office will be open from 11am for collections and enquiries only. No tickets will be available to purchase.

📰 SQUAD NEWS

The Saints have been dealt a further blow on the injury front, with both Mark Percival and George Delaney ruled out. As announced earlier this week, the Club have moved to strengthen the squad with the arrival of Jordan Dezaria and Bill Leyland on short-term loans from Hull KR – read more on that news by clicking here.

Matt Peet has made one change to the squad that lost to Huddersfield last weekend, with fullback Jai Field included for the first time since Round 3. He comes in to replace former Saint Jonny Vaughan.

The Warriors remain without halfback Bevan French and centre Joe Wardle through injury.

🍻 THE MARCHING INN

Our brand-new bar, The Marching Inn, will be open on match day from 11am, and fans can watch live coverage of the Hull derby (12:30pm KO).

Post-match, DJ Earl Raff will be in the bar to keep the atmosphere lively and your Good Friday festivities rolling on!

😇 HALO FANZONE

The HALO Fanzone will open for the first time, offering fans a vibrant mix of live music, food, and drink. It promises to be a lively pre-match destination for supporters of all ages!

MUSIC

The HALO stage will host live music opposite the Marching Inn Bar and Superstore. Kicking off the entertainment, DJ Earl Raff, star of the club’s Third Kit launch trailer, will perform from 12pm to 1pm. He will also return to the Marching Inn Bar post-match to continue the party.

Following DJ Earl Raff, local artist Bradley Johnson will take to the HALO Fanzone stage for a set from 1pm to 2pm, keeping the atmosphere upbeat ahead of kickoff.

Inside the BrewDog Stadium, another local act, Jack Dean, will be playing live in the West Stand Concourse as we get to within one hour of kick-off.

FOOD & DRINK

Fans can enjoy a selection of outside food vendors, including a Gourmet Burger outlet, Cottoms Pie’s mobile pie unit, and JJ’s Ices ice cream van. There’s something to satisfy every taste!

Adding to the excitement, first-team players will be on stage in the fan zone ahead of kick-off.

Jackson Hastings is embracing the occasion ahead of one of the biggest fixtures on the rugby league calendar, the Good Friday derby against Wigan Warriors.

The half-back spoke about the unique buzz surrounding the fixture, highlighting how it goes beyond a typical league game. With the history, rivalry, and atmosphere that comes with the Good Friday clash, Hastings is relishing the opportunity to be part of such a special occasion.

The Saints’ 2026 Home Kit will be worn proudly on Friday afternoon!

Paying homage to the inaugural season of Super League in 1996, this year is 30 years since that momentous campaign during which St.Helens won the League title and a memorable Challenge Cup victory at Wembley.

The kit worn during that season has since become iconic and a retro favourite amongst Saints fans. Worn by the likes of Steve Prescott MBE, Tommy Martyn, Keiron Cunningham, Chris Joynt, Anthony Sullivan, Bobbie Goulding and Paul Newlove, to name but a few.

📊 THE RECORD AGAINST WIGAN

The two sides have met 96 times in the Betfred Super League era, Saints winning 48 of the meetings, with Wigan winning 44, and four draws.

Saints’ biggest Super League win over Wigan came in 2020 with a dominant 42-0 victory. Wigan’s largest margin of victory against Saints was a 65-12 win back in 1997.

🦺 SUPPORTER SAFETY

St.Helens R.F.C. want to ensure that everyone who comes to enjoy game days at the BrewDog Stadium can do so in a safe and friendly environment. The Club would like to reiterate to supporters that it operates a zero-tolerance approach to any anti-social behaviour.

Misbehaviours that will not be tolerated include, but are not limited to; physical or verbal abuse, violent conduct, missile throwing, excessive alcohol misuse, and any drug use.

Furthermore, the use of pyrotechnics is strictly prohibited under both rugby and football ground regulations. They can cause serious injuries to those who carry them as well as fellow spectators, as well as damage to surfaces such as the playing pitch which can cost clubs thousands of pounds.

St.Helens would also like to encourage parents/guardians of children coming to the ground to ensure they are always aware of what their child is doing and where in the stadium they are at all times.

🎒 BAG CHECK

Personal bags of A5 size or smaller only will be permitted in the BrewDog Stadium, and our stewarding staff will check your bags and conduct bag checks upon entry. We kindly ask supporters to please remain patient and be co-operative with our staff, and we thank you for your understanding.

Bags larger than A5 will only be permitted at the discretion of St.Helens R.F.C. staff if containing essentials for babies, or medical purposes and will be subject to being searched before entry. It is advised to provide Medical Exemption Certificates or proof of eligibility for a Medical Exemption Certificate.

O’Neills branded paper bags from the Saints Superstore will be permitted entry, however they too will be subject to bag checks from our stewarding staff.

Bag-Drop Facility

A Bag-Drop area will be set up at the BrewDog Stadium for any bags that would not be permitted entry. This will be located in the South East corner of the stadium and will be open from two hours before kick-off and will close one hour after full time.

Please note our Bag-Drop facility will cost £3 per bag, and as a cashless venue, only debit or credit cards will be accepted. St.Helens R.F.C. accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of items which are left at the owners’ risk, with all bags subject to a search.

💬 COACH PREVIEW

Head Coach Paul Rowley is relishing his first taste of the Good Friday Derby, as Saints prepare to face fierce rivals Wigan Warriors in one of the biggest fixtures of the Super League calendar.

Rowley acknowledged the significance of the fixture from the moment he arrived at the Club, highlighting how important The Derby is to the town and our loyal fanbase.

🗣️WHO WILL BE THE MATCH OFFICIALS? 

Jack Smith will be the Referee on Friday, and he will be assisted by Touch Judges Matty Lynn and Mark Craven, as well as Video Referee Marcus Griffiths.
