Up Next: The Good Friday Derby

It’s the biggest game of the Super League calendar! The traditional Good Friday derby returns to the BrewDog Stadium.

On Friday, 3rd April 2026 (3pm KO), St.Helens host fierce rivals, Wigan Warriors, in what is always one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures of the season.

The Good Friday clash is steeped in history and passion, and home advantage has proven crucial in recent years. The last time an away side triumphed in the fixture was back in 2019, when Saints ran out 36-10 winners at the DW Stadium. With a sold-out crowd, Paul Rowley’s men will be looking to continue that proud tradition.

Saints fans will also remember the last time they hosted Wigan on Good Friday – it was a day to remember as St.Helens came from behind in the final ten minutes to secure a 12-4 victory, ending a 15-match winning run for the Warriors and taking the derby day spoils.

The league table reflects the competitive nature of both sides so far this season. St.Helens currently sit fifth, with four wins and two defeats from their opening six games. Saints had been enjoying a run of four consecutive league victories before last week’s tough outing, which saw them fall 52-10 away at reigning champions Hull KR.

Wigan, meanwhile, head into the clash at the top of the Super League. However, they will be keen to respond after suffering their first defeat of the season last time out, losing 34-16 to bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield.

Both sides arrive with a point to prove, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense, high-stakes encounter.

Expect a fiery atmosphere, top-class rugby league, and all the drama that comes with this historic rivalry. The Good Friday derby is back, and it’s one you absolutely don’t want to miss!
